Wallpapers

A wallpapers package is now available on my github. This package is a part of the qtile-chameleon project. To learn more about qtile chameleon check my old blog posts. My primary focus with these wallpapers was on color. The goal is to provide a good variety of colors for pywal to use in generating color pallets. Some are 3D graphics and others are vector graphics.

The two vector designs are Op art inspired. The vector images use Sven PelsThe Bold Font. The grid of lines is asymmetrical and there is an orange stroke around the yellow circle that creates tension and discord in the pattern.

The other wallpapers are results of my explorations in 3D. The planet render is a result of Critical Giant’s YouTube tutorial on procedurally generated planets. It’s a great tutorial for learning about procedurally generated textures. The geometric 3D render is a result of Khamurai’s tutorial on geometry nodes. This was working with blender 2.93’s legacy version of the geometry nodes tool. The render with the succulent style plants is the result of a different geometry nodes tutorial by Bad Normals. Bad Normals does a good job of translating the advanced geometry of plants into mathematics and then into 3D.
