The End of the Year
What better way is there to end the year than with fireworks?
This pen and ink drawing was made in my canson mixed media sketchbook. The thick lines were drawn with a Jin Hao 159 and the thin lines were drawn with a Pilot Metropolitan. I was very nearly done inking when I ran my hand through fresh ink. Despite the disappointment of accidentally adding black blotches I like this composition. I drew a Mushroom cloud because I like the form of the subject. This drawing wasn’t intended to be realistic, but to capture an idea I had about horizontal hatching. I didn’t capture the uniformity of what I had in mind so I may try this again in the future.
