In the valley of the pyramids something waits below the cyclopian monuments. Buried by the ancients preceded by nothing on this planet and forgotten to modernity. It’s surface perfectly smooth worn down by the infinite cycles of the stars. The sphere under the pyramid is a hypothetical, unfalsifiable enigma like Schrodinger’s cat. The question of weather the sphere is or is not, isn’t the subject of my drawing.
This drawing was largely an experiment in stippling. I wanted to use the textured effect I discovered in Fou-Dou Child to create a radiant effect on the objects in the drawing. The line weight and uniformity in some aspects of this drawing are unsatisfying to me. However instead of concealing this drawing from the world or re-illustrating the scene I am going to post it as a reminder that failure and success are stepping stones toward improvement.
The Pyramid and the sphere is a pen and ink drawing on white linen paper. The stippling was done with an fine tip sharpie and the shapes were drawn with a pilot g2.
